are a non-profit all volunteer organization that strives to save lives by
promoting greater awareness of prostate cancer in Georgia - including the
make up of the disease, importance of early detection, treatment options
and quality of life issues. This is accomplished through: event
sponsorship, speaker availability, dissemination of materials, and one-on-one assistance to those diagnosed with prostate cancer.
In addition, we advocate at the Federal, State and Local levels for
increased research funding to find a cure.

The Department of Medical Research was established to conduct medical
research studies as a response to the growing urologic problems
confronting the community. Projects undertaken by this department
include clinical trials generated by pharmaceutical companies, national
research entities, and "in-house" studies designed by Midtown Urology's physicians and Department of Medical

The National Black Men's Health Network was founded in June 1987 to
address the serious health concerns facing the African American Community
and African American males in particular. African American males are a
group known to suffer extremely high rates of heart disease, cancer,
homicide, alcoholism, drug abuse, HIV disease, and unintentional injuries,
all of which could be prevented by culturally appropriate community health
education.
